Looking at the photos, I imagined this place was either going to be really bad or really good. Fortunately, it's the former. My party had the samosas, chicken biryani, and butter chicken. Samosas were freshly fried and the main dishes were incredibly well spiced. The chai was also very legit and had a ton more flavor than the coffee chain equivalent. Would recommend if you need some good food while in the area.

If you're in the mood for some tasty Indian food, this food truck is definitely worth checking out. The butter chicken is super creamy and flavorful, with just the right amount of spices. The chicken is really tender, and the sauce is amazing--so good that you'll want to scoop it up with the garlic naan. The naan is soft, warm, and packed with garlic, making it the perfect side. And don't skip the chai! It's spiced just right and a great way to finish off the meal. The portions are big, and everything's served fresh and hot. Perfect for anyone craving a quick and delicious meal!

If you find yourself randomly at the chevron gas station, stopped over or passing by, do yourself a favor a grab some of their food. Was hungry on the way to a campsite late at night, everything was closed except gas stations, and behold a 24hour Indian food truck. On initial google/yelp searching, I had low expectations that they would be open but sent it anyway...when we pulled up, felt a sigh of relief, Seeing people in line at a food truck late at night...it had to be good. Ordered up some chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala, and some garlic naan and a chai tea. Wait was a little long...but well worth it...good things come to those who wait. Food came out hot, containers filled to the brim. Biryani....smackin, masala..smackin, garlic naan...smackin. And Drinking the hot chai tea on a cold night felt so relieving. Definitely will be back when I'm passing by in the area.

So you're thinking 24-hour (yes 24-hour!) Indian Food in Emigrant Gap. Doesn't make any sense right? First the food: This place is pretty legit. Real tandoor in the food truck, hardcore flavors. Curries were great. Naan and rotis were great. Chai and mango lassi too (although we thought the chai was a bit too sweet). Chicken biryani was the only "ok" thing we had. Everything else was outstanding. Now the story. Decent Indian food in Emigrant Gap, not near any major city seems weird right? I-80 is a major route for truckers and quite a few truckers are Indian so makes sense as as stop-off point. Bonus points are this is right beside a bank of Tesla superchargers and a couple of ChargePoint ~62kW chargers. Great spot for a quick bite or takeout on the way up or back from Tahoe.

Not sure what we ordered as my husband asked the gentleman for whatever was the most popular. He said it was creamy something and just went with that. I wish I was there to order because it was amazing! It reminded me a hit like butter chicken, but it wasn't. Sorry this isn't too helpful but the portion was great, food was super fresh as we waited 10-12 minutes (as was stated to us upon order), and it was so flavorful. I personally didn't want spicy and it was perfect! Highly recommend this place on your way to or from your road trip adventures! I'll be back and definitely want to try the naan, too!

I stopped here last night and couldn't be more delighted for my decision. I ordered the Shahi paneer and garlic naan. It was SO delicious, and I realized I didn't take a picture of the name of truck. Thankfully my apple wallet knew! The paneer was served in a creamy spiced, rich sauce, was so good hands down the best I have ever had. And I am well-traveled in Indian food. The cherry on top was owners threw in a free mango lassi. So sweet of them! I will definitely return on my way into town.

Really loved the freshness at this place! Our family went in today and drove all the way from North Tahoe where we are staying for this weekend. They not only had fresh Indian food but flavours are very authentic for a food truck in the middle of no where. Hot desi chai with fresh tandoori roti and curries and Daal is something you can drive for an hour even in heavy snow. They are doing a service and I really appreciate their fair prices.

You need to try their food!!!!we came here for a snow weekend and my wife got us butter chicken and garlic naan from there truck.its super clean looking inside food is off the hook, great service you must stop on your way to Tahoe and Reno!!!!! Update to review I did last night!!!! We stopped in this morning before we head back to the Bay Area for butter chicken breakfast with naan!!!! It was Just as good as the night before and there's a awsome sledding spot behind the trailer that they let you to sled on!!!!!!
